On July 11th, Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area was thrilled to host a citywide Spelling Bee for youth from our summer camp sites at the Stateside Theater at the Paramount in Downtown Austin!

It was a treat to see our kids on the big stage engaging in a friendly competition. We had members from our Walnut Creek, BTW, Chalmers, Meadowbrook, Presidential Meadows, Overton, Garcia, Burnet, Home Club, Wooldridge, McBee, Cook, and LBJ sites all showing up to compete in different grade level categories.

With such amazing students, the Spelling Bee was neck-and-neck all the way until the end, and we want to send a huge congratulations to our four 1st Place winners and four 2nd Place winners:

2nd & 3rd Grade: 1^st Place- Hana L. (McBee/Cook); 2^nd Place- Laniyah T. (BTW)

4th & 5th Grade: 1^st Place- Adriana V. (Walnut Creek); 2^nd Place- Jacob F. (Home Club/Wooldridge)

6th to 8th Grade: 1^st Place- Saparan L. (BTW); 2^nd Place- E’nija C. (BTW)

High School: 1^st Place- Jon-Quell R. (BTW); 2^nd Place- Aurelois C. (LBJ)
