We are excited to welcome Dr. Latasha Carter as our new Chief Program Officer! A transformational leader with over 15 years of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and advocacy, Dr. Carter brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role.
As Chief Program Officer, Dr. Carter will lead the development, promotion, and management of a robust life and workforce readiness program. She will oversee all club-wide program operations, drive innovation, and implement strategies that enhance positive youth development and member experiences. In collaboration with senior leadership, she will ensure programmatic alignment, financial management, and technology integration to achieve long-term organizational goals.
Dr. Carter began her journey in education at Bastrop ISD, where she spent a decade shaping young minds and developing transformative programs. Her passion for empowering youth took her overseas in 2018, where she served as Elementary Principal at Wuhan Yangtze International School in China, collaborating with global education leaders to provide world-class learning experiences.
In 2020, Dr. Carter played a pivotal role in launching Liberty STEAM Charter School in South Carolina, spearheading fundraising, community partnerships, and family engagement initiatives. Her impact continued in 2023 as chief development officer at San Antonio Preparatory Charter School, where she closed financial gaps and expanded opportunities for students in high-need areas.
Most recently, Dr. Carter served as the Managing Director of Big Medium, an arts nonprofit in Austin that supports artists through exhibitions and community programs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in public administration, and a doctorate in educational leadership and consistently drives meaningful change through equity, innovation, and opportunity.
When she’s not making a difference in the community, you can find Dr. Carter on a running trail, at the gym, or enjoying a matcha latte at a local coffee shop. A passionate traveler and foodie, she’s always on the hunt for the best cupcakes!
