Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin ares was thrilled to welcome WWE superstars Carmelo Hayes and Michin to the Home Club during National Mentorship Month, . Their visit was a moment of inspiration and empowerment for our youth, showcasing the importance of chasing your dreams and persevering, no matter the obstacles. 

Carmelo and Michin were greeted with excitement and enthusiasm by our K-2 members, who welcomed them with handmade signs and cheers. Our 3rd-grade members and above gathered eagerly in the gym, ready for a day of motivational words and unforgettable moments. 

During their visit, Carmelo shared powerful advice with our youth: “Follow your dreams, follow your heart.” When asked by one of our members how they found the courage to pursue professional wrestling, Carmelo’s response was clear: “Chase after your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it!”

Michin also shared her personal journey, reminding our members that their dreams are within reach, regardless of the challenges they may face. “This wasn’t always in the cards for me, but this was a dream I had since I was your age,” she reflected. “Being a young girl, I was always told it was too hard or that I’d get hurt. But sports were in my blood, and I decided I wanted to fight.”

After their inspiring talk, Club members met the wrestlers up close, taking photos and getting autographs to remember this special day. 

We are deeply grateful to Carmelo Hayes and Michin for taking the time to visit and share their stories. Their words of wisdom reminded our youth that dreams are worth pursuing with passion and determination. This visit reinforced the message that no dream is too big, and with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.
