Healthy Lifestyles

A day at Club means healthy snacks, fun fitness activities, and competitive sports to show our members the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of leading healthy lifestyles. We also offer health education programming that encourages and empowers young people to take control of their own well-being, which results in success in school and throughout their lives.

Key Programs

Healthy Snacks and Meals

Club kids start every afternoon with provided healthy snacks and drinks, including fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates.

Physical Activity

We encourage Club members to be active for at least 30 minutes every day by providing plenty of opportunities for them to move their bodies – kickball, dodgeball, indoor and outdoor basketball, volleyball, disc golf, and open recreation on an outdoor playscape in a monitored safe environment.

Competitive Sports

The Club runs intramural sports leagues throughout the school year that are free to any elementary-aged members. We partner with Verde Leaders, through Austin FC, to provide soccer camps for middle-school-aged members throughout the year.

Healthy Decision Making

We prepare young people to make informed decisions around risky behaviors like underage drinking, sex, and substance use. Through SMART Moves (a nationally recognized, evidence-based program) members come to understand the risks associated with these behaviors and develop the skills and tools to avoid them.
